Seth Shapiro is a two-time Emmy® Award winner and a leader in the profitable application of new technology to emerging business models. He has managed digital initiatives with the Walt Disney Company, DIRECTV, Comcast, Universal, TiVo, Time Warner, Showtime, HBO, STARZ, Sun Microsystems, Goldman Sachs and a variety startups, venture and private equity partners.

Shapiro is Principal of advisory firm New Amsterdam Media, partner at the Opportunity Management Company, and co-founder of Media Valuation Partners, a firm specializing in the economics of media, entertainment and emerging technologies. He is also a Founder of ARC: The A&R Channel, a VOD network available in 17,000,000 US cable homes via Comcast.

As Head of Production for DIRECTV’s Advanced Services Group, Shapiro managed over 20 service launches across four platforms, designed the groundbreaking NFL DVR Highlights On Demand Service and was a principal contributor to the TiVo DIRECTV Master Agreement. More recently, he provided analysis and litigation support in major matters for Comcast, Cablevision, mobile carriers and others.

Shapiro is a member of OVP Venture Partners’ Technology Advisory Group, the Television Academy’s Interactive Peer Group Executive Committee, the IP Media Advisory Board, the PICNIC Amsterdam Advisory Board and the Producer’s Guild New Media Council. He is a magna cum laude graduate of New York University and was Adelbert Alumni Scholar at CWRU and the Cleveland Institute of Music. He began his career as a music producer/indie label owner.
